Title IV, Part A- Student Support & Academic Enrichment (SSAE)

Authorized in December 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) introduced a new block formula grant under Title IV, Part A with a wide range of allowable uses. Title IV, Part A, Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) grants are intended to improve students’ academic achievement by increasing the capacity of States, LEAs, schools, and local communities to:
  • provide all students with access to a well-rounded education,
  • improve school conditions for student learning, and
  • improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students. (ESEA section 41​01).

E3 Grants
The Georgia Department of Education’s Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) office, in collaboration with the Title IV, Part A Student Support and Academic Enrichment program office, is pleased to announce the release of a Request for Application (RFA) for competitive E3 (Entrepreneurship - Enterprise - Education) grants.  The purpose of the E3 (Entrepreneurship - Enterprise - Education) grant is to assist rural schools and districts in creating and developing entrepreneurship initiatives.  These initiatives will support quality entrepreneurial lessons which will significantly improve student access to entrepreneurships and enterprise and advance the curriculum of CTAE pathways or classes.  This Request for Application (RFA) is specifically for the creation of new entrepreneurial lessons and curriculum to expand existing CTAE classes or implement new pathways in rural Georgia.  Additional information is available here​.

Title IV, A SSAE Community Forum
The online SSAE Community Forum was created by the Georgia Department of Education to serve as a central location where school districts can share best practices, search for new ideas and collaborate with each other.
